Rehabilitation psychology is a branch of psychology that emphasizes on treating individuals struggling with disorders and issues that make leading normal lives difficult. Professionals in this field try to help patients skirmishing with such problems, in order for the patients to adjust and work towards leading happy and rewarding lives.

This area of psychology often involves treating a broad range of problems. Some of the troubles that clinical psychologists treat may be psychological, and they may include such ailments as depression, anxiety, OCD, schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder and mental disabilities. Other problems that psychologists treat might be physical, such as addiction. Problems that rehabilitation psychologists treat might be chronic or acute, and they might also be congenital or acquired.
