The central goal of cognitive behavioural therapy is to teach the patient to deal with situations in which they are most likely to abuse substances, to avoid these circumstances and to cope with other behavioural changes. Cognitive behavioural therapy is comprised of two main components-

  • Functional Analysis
  • Skills Training

At our drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Delhi, we have included both main components for the therapy to get rid of addiction.

The therapist and the patient try to identify the thoughts and circumstances of the patients before and after they abused the substance(s). This helps the patient determine the risks that are likely to lead to a relapse. Unlike other substance de addiction centers in Delhi, Tulasi implements the most appropriate treatment methods for affected people. Tulasi Health Care’s de-addiction center offers a customized psychotherapy program to meet an individual’s exclusive needs.

Functional Analysis:

We strongly believe that it is possible to de addict from alcohol, smoking and any substance’s use when one wins over his/her thoughts. Working together, the therapist and the patient try to identify the thoughts, feelings and circumstances of the patient before and after they drink or use drugs. This in-turn helps the patient identify the feelings and circumstances which are likely to lead to a relapse. Functional analysis can help the patients gain an insight into why they drink or use drugs and identify situations in which the person has coping difficulties.

Skills Training:

If someone is at a point where he/she needs professional treatment for his/her alcohol or drug dependence, chances are that they are using alcohol or drugs as the main means of coping with their problems. The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy is to get the person to learn or re-learn better coping skills. The therapist tries to help the individual unlearn old habits and learn to develop new, healthier skills and habits. The main goal of cognitive behavior therapy is to educate the alcohol or drug-dependent person to change the way they think about their substance abuse and to learn new ways to cope with the situations and circumstances that led to their drinking or drugging episodes in the past.

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), the twelve-step fellowship, was founded in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith. At our de Addiction centre, we follow the Twelve-Step Program to aide recovery from addiction, compulsion, or other behavioural problems. This is an effective, powerful and well-planned addiction treatment for alcohol addiction.

  • Admitting that one cannot control one’s addiction or compulsion.
  • Recognizing a higher power that can give strength.
  • Examining errors/mistakes committed in the past with the help of a sponsor (an experienced member).
  • Making amends for these errors.
  • Learning to live a new life with a new code of behaviour.
  • Helping others who suffer from the same addictions or compulsions.

Intervention at TULASI is a multi pronged approach; Treatment module is divided into 3 broad categories Medical Intervention, Psychotherapy, Behaviour Modification and Support groups like A.A., N.A., and ALANON.

We believe in making a difference and that can only come about if we empower patients and their families. In the process, we try our level best to involve the family members of the patients for the effective treatment of patients.

Efforts are being put in to make the treatment as smooth as possible. However the nature of illness can only be addressed with some amount of discipline.

At our rehabilitation centers, we implement rules, regulations and discipline into patients’ daily routines & schedules so to achieve the de-addiction goals and objectives at the earliest.
In Tulasi, we intensively focus on how we may educate every individual, so as to develop and build an insight into their illnesses.
We have treated patients from various backgrounds and countries, hence the program we have here is appreciated worldwide.
This approach has lead to the recovery success rate of 60% to 70%.
